about

Folk-pop duo and All-American badasses ¿Banana? have released
their second full-length LP, Reading the Room. A shimmering twee
odyssey, guided by Sam Herring’s impeccable production and the
group’s stellar vocal harmonies, the record glides with ease through all manner of understated pop plaintiveness, from the old-school jagged indie-rock of “Ultima Libertad”, to the hilarious acappella interlude “Bluntz”, to the free-and-easy folk confessional “Cancer Season”, to the chugging sense of budding purpose that lends “The Projector” its mysterious power. Culminating in the majestic closer “Here I Am (So Glad You Are), Reading the Room is a testament to the strengths of honesty, wit, and pure, playful creativity.
